David is a Chartered Marine Engineer
and former Lloyd’s Register Surveyor who moved
from marine and offshore oil & gas into renewables 33 years ago to form the B9 Energy group of companies.
B9 has developed 10 onshore and 2 offshore wind farm projects, provided O&M services on 49 wind farms, developed industrial scale anaerobic digestion, 6 x landfill gas power stations, and is now focussed on energy storage and green Power-to-X projects to provide balancing load for otherwise curtailed offshore wind farms.

John is CTO of B9 Energy Storage Ltd. He is an experienced PRINCE2 qualified Project Manager with over 15 years’ experience within the Innovation and Renewable Energy sectors. John has acted as Project Director on multiple EU-funded delivery projects. He is an expert on Energy Storage and specialises on technical assessment and technoeconomic analysis for renewable energy asset classes

Ian is a chartered accountant and a member of the original B9 Energy Team, with 30 years of experience in renewable energy project development. His expertise spans wind energy, biogas (including anaerobic digestion plants), and landfill gas sites, primarily in Northern Ireland.

Hollie is a Senior Chemical Engineer for B9 Energy with a background in Hydrogen and Net Zero projects. She has a Chemical Engineering degree from Queen’s University Belfast, followed by postgraduate certificates in Zero Carbon Engineering and Hydrogen Energy Systems. She has also completed a certificate of study in Business Sustainability Management from University of Cambridge and is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Net-Zero Engineering.

OUR HISTORY
- 1992: Founding of B9: B9 Energy was created in 1992 with the main goal of developing renewable energy projects, developing 10 wind farms across the Uk & Ireland
- 1994: B9 O&M was formed, becoming the largest independent Operations & Maintenance Company in the UK with 49 wind farms under management
2002: Energy Control: We developed a method to harness landfill gas given off by waste materials slowly decomposing within a landfill
- 2008: B9 Energy Storage: We developed one of the first demostrators for distributed scale, compressed air energy storage in the world
- 2022: B9 Technologies: Set up as a technology development company for Net Zero Technologies
